The work seen above is from my junior design project, where I, alongside a team of
two other students, was tasked with creating an adaptive paintbrush device
to be used by artists with cerebral palsy. Given the pandemic of COVID-19,
we were unable to physically develop a project, yet we were still tasked
with creating a virtual prototype as well as a 70 page design report that
highlighted all of the technical details of the design and the impacts it
would have in terms of social, environmental, and ethical context. With this
project, I was assigned team lead and was responsible for guiding my teammates
with meeting necessary deadlines and assuring all project requirements were
met. Meetings were conducted via Zoom and I held the responsibility in guiding
the focus of each meeting towards a particular task related to the project.
I learned many valuable skills in project management using Gantt charts, as well as
technical writing skills, Arduino coding, and developing models in Solidworks.
